VisionIdeale: Laser-based permanent vision correction

Unmet Medical Need:  Each year, close to one million Americans choose to permanently correct their vision. For them, refractive surgery is currently the only option.

Envisioned Healthcare Product: The VisionIdeale team is developing an alternative for these patients, a noninvasive, laser-assisted technology for permanent vision correction, to treat myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and irregular astigmatism. Furthermore, unlike the current techniques, the proposed technology would be applicable to all patients – even those that are currently not eligible for LASIK, significantly expanding the eligible patient population. Thus, the technology would provide significant benefits not only to patients’ quality of life, but also to providers’ bottom lines.
